So what is photography? Noah Webster defines photography as the art or process of producing images of objects on photosensitive surfaces. This definition suggests creating images requires both technical and artistic skills.
The required technical skills are directly related to the photographic technology employed. In the early days, dark room processing required a working knowledge of chemistry. With today’s digital darkroom, chemistry has been replaced with a working knowledge of computers and associated applications. Despite changing technologies, photographers are still challenged with representing the three dimensional world on two dimensional media. When successful, viewers relate to the images and find themselves inspired. To accomplish this, photographers rely on a suite of artistic skills.
As an amateur photographer, this portfolio was established in hopes of further developing my technical and artistic skills. The showcased images are displayed in collections, each telling part of the entire story. Some depict powerful moments and are capable of standing on their own. All are intended to inspire your IMAGINATION and leave you wanting more.
