Mississippi Riverboats
In January 1812 the steamer New Orleans arrived in Natchez. Soon riverboats traversed regularly between New Orleans, Natchez, St. Louis, Nashville and Louisville. This new era in transportation allowed goods to move quickly and cheaply both up and down the river. With no real purpose, the trace fell into disuse.
