The
National Museum of the United States Air Force is located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio. Established in 1923, it is the world’s oldest and largest military aviation museum. The collection of more than 400 aircraft and missiles are displayed in seven indoor galleries. These include the Early Years, Air Power, Modern Flight, Cold War, Presidential, Research & Development and the Missile & Space galleries. The museum is open year round with free admission and parking. Bring comfortable shoes and plan to spend the day. No need to leave for lunch, a café and picnic area are available.
