The
Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens cover 65 acres in the Avondale area of Cincinnati, Ohio. Founded in 1873 the zoo officially opened in 1875 making it the second-oldest zoo in the United States. Through the years, the zoo has expanded from its original 26 animals to well over 500. In 1986, the Lindner Center for Conservation and Research of Endangered Wildlife (CREW) was founded and soon was recognized as an international leader in the protection and propagation of endangered plants and animals around the world.
Ever been to a zoo and found the animals less than cooperative? Next time visit early on a cool sunny day. There is nothing like breakfast and a warm sunny spot to bring out their best.
