Unitarian Church Gateway

Located between 161½ and 163 King Street are the rear entrance and walk leading to the Unitarian Church yard. With church construction starting in 1772, it was almost complete when the Revolutionary War broke out in 1776. The American militia arrived and commandeered the structure for barracks. Later, during the British occupation in 1780, it became a horse stable. After independence the church was repaired and formally dedicated in 1787.
